This is Engineering is celebrating Earth Day with this inspirational Q&A discussing how engineering can build a sustainable future.
It features This is Engineering ambassador Olivia Sweeney and Rosa Arthur. Olivia is a chemical engineer whose work encompasses sustainable beauty, sustainable waste systems, and circular economies. Rosa is a second-year undergraduate student studying general engineering at the University of Oxford.
The theme for Earth Day 2021 is “Restore our Earth” and here the inspirational ambassadors answer students’ questions, discussing the importance of engineering in creating a sustainable future, from carbon neutral technologies to tackling the plastics problem.
The session follows on from the series of Q&A sessions hosted for This is Engineering Day in November 2020. The Q&As are available as resources for students and teachers on topics students are interested in, showing how engineering is in everything from medicine to sport.
This is Engineering would like to thank their partners for their support and the University of Oxford for providing the speaker for this session. All the talks and videos from the campaign are free to use and share online and at events.
